My name is Kristy Simmons, and I have always had a designer's instinct. In my teens, I draped all kinds of available fabrics around my body (felt, curtain material, vintage table cloths, quilting cottons), pinned together with safety pins, sewed them into roughly made garments, and rocked my unique looks at high school.
After earning my college degree in apparel design, practicing industrial sewing methods, and learning some couture techniques, I have more tools to express the creativity I have always had. I work in the fashion industry and am a technical designer of junior swimwear for a major retailer full time. I also moonlight as a custom bridal designer and am just starting to become involved in the local art and fashion design scene.
My brand name is JNRR, an abbreviation of the French words Je Ne Regrette Rien, which generally translates to "I Do Not Regret" - a philosophy by which I want to live. The logo is a combination of my two tattoos, the peach on my wrist and the Old English "JNRR" at an angle on my hip.
