Sassy Knitwear was founded by Molly O'Brien Black in 2003 when a passion for clothing design turned into a business in demand. With one sewing machine and a couple of crochet hooks, Molly suddenly found herself creating a market niche, one that required handmade goods with an eye for unique, chic fashions. Sassy Knitwear is meant to be enjoyed and loved. Many hours are spent on each piece due to the dedication to the creative process. Our hope is to encourage everyone to buy with conscience and with Sassy Knitwear, you can! All materials are recycled with the exception of some hand-dyed yarns and new thread.

I have always enjoyed working with fiber and color. I gather my palette of colors and textures from the world around me. My creative process often starts with a vision of certain colors, textures and stitches merging into a design. I know that at some point the right person will find the garment that I am making and it will come alive on them. I hope, through my line of clothing, to create a sense of beauty, individuality as well as a respect for the environment and those who dwell in it. --Molly O'Brien Black
